Email Marketing
Why is email marketing important for businesses?
Email marketing remains one of the most profitable channels for businesses in 2026.
Surveyed in 2025, 70% of professionals reported an average return of $10 -$50 for every $1 spent, which is the equivalent of £7.50-£37.50 for every £0.75 spent.
In addition to generating sales, email marketing is important for communication with your customers, falling into three main categories:
Promotion & Sales
Informational & Nurturing
Automated & Behavioural
Promotional & Sales
Promotional and sales emails should account for around 20% of your email strategy, ensuring customers stay as subscribers to not feel sold to all the time.
These can be used to:
Launch new products
Showcase offers and discounts
Re-engage with potential customers who abandoned their cart at checkout
Informational & Nurturing
Informational
& Nurturing
These types of emails are aimed at keeping your audience engaged with your brand, in addition to keeping them considering your products or services. They aren’t likely to generate many direct sales or leads, but keep you top of mind when they are ready to purchase.
Types of informational and nurturing emails are:
Newsletters: Regular roundups to share company news, new content or news within your industry.
Educational & Lead Nurturing: Guides, tips, or short courses.
Event invitations: In person or virtual event invitations, such as webinars or store openings.
Automated & Behavioural
Automated emails can vary from transactional to recovering abandoned carts, encouraging users to purchase. These emails can often be considered the most important emails for running businessess smoothly.
Some of the most common examples of automated emails are:
Login emails: For example, new account sign-ups and forgotten passwords
Subscription emails: Whether subscribing to a newsletter, or signing up for a regular product or service
Abandon cart emails: For users who entered their details but didn’t hit the “buy” button, to encourage them to come back and finish their purchase
Transaction emails: Typically, these are thank you for your order emails, receipts, and updates on order statuses.
How It Works
-
Reach out using the contact form at the bottom of this page, or by emailing me directly at hello@locallygrownmarketing.co.uk
-
We will discuss your business in more detail to help me get a feel for you and what you do. If you have any specific requests, existing logos, imagery, icons or colours, I will ensure these are used to shape the feel of your emails to align with your branding.
-
We will discuss what you need assistance with, whether this is part of a larger campaign, email design, email strategy, a one off email or an audit of your current setup with recommendations of how to elevate.
-
Once we are both confident in what is intended to be delivered, I will write this up for you into a quote, to ensure you are confident in the price, and that you are reassured there will be no unexpected costs.
-
Once the quote and scope of work has been agreed, I will start your project, keeping you in the loop of its progress to ensure we reach the agreed deadline. Once complete, you will have a chance to review and let me know of any changes required to ensure you’re happy and confident with the end result.
